If your job is to prepare your company’s LTL freight for the carrier that will be picking it up from your shipping docks, you will find that just as with any other type of commercial carrier service, there are specific ways it must be packaged. The most common way is palletizing in which you stack smaller packages on the pallet and plastic wrap them in place securely.
The second alternative is to build a crate for the item or items you are shipping, the crate itself can be built onto or around a pallet to make it easier to move around. As a last option you can put everything into a cardboard box and hope it lasts as this type of packaging does not lend itself to much in the way of protection.
