One of the most common questions we are asked concerns what LTL companies will and won’t allow their drivers to haul. As not everyone is shipping boxes of tissue paper, this seems to be a fairly reasonable question. If you need to ship a hazardous cargo, you need to know if you are going to be able to find an LTL trucking company that will haul it for you.
Each of Our LTL Companies Has Their Own Rules
The only way to answer this question honestly is to say that all of the LTL companies we have in our network have their own rules regarding what types of cargo they will and won’t carry. Their decisions are typically on what their licenses and insurance policies cover as well as what licenses and certifications their drivers have. If you are planning to ship hazardous or unusual products, you will need to contact each carrier until you find one that is prepared to handle your shipments.
